In this paper, we analyze the impact of formal childcare attendance at ages 0–2 on children’s attitudes toward schooling and social behavior end subjects’ first year primary school high school. We compare children who attended with were looked after home, but otherwise shared similar characteristics, both in terms family characteristics probability having access to Italy, where service is rationed. find that significantly improves readiness elementary disappears The effects are larger for boys mothers lower educational attainment fathers low-level occupations.
